Affordable Housing and Land Use: Pathways to Inclusive Growth

The Metropolitan Housing Coalition’s 2025 Annual Meeting Dinner was a massive success! Our organization would like to thank everyone who played a role in making this event possible. MHC would like to give a special shout out to each of our sponsors who proudly showcased their support for this event and our mission.

This event featured a presentation from Sara Bronin, architect, attorney, Cornell University professor, and founder of the National Zoning Atlas as our keynote speaker. Sara Bronin is renowned for her extensive expertise in property, land use, zoning, and historic preservation law. Sara is the author of the influential book Key to the City: How Zoning Shapes Our World. In this groundbreaking work, Sara examines how zoning became so influential in shaping our world, through the creation of communities, infrastructure and the built environment, local economies, household access to amenities, planning commission processes, transportation, environmental concerns, and affordable and accessible housing.

During her keynote address, Sara drew from her work to discuss changes in zoning and land use policies that can help create more affordable housing for all. This event presented a unique opportunity to gain insights from one of the leading voices in the field and engage in a crucial dialogue about the future of housing in the context of zoning reform.
