In February 2024, Sarah Pierce joined the Metropolitan Housing Coalition (MHC) as their Housing and Energy Affordability Program Coordinator. In this new position at MHC, she hopes to provide education and advocacy around energy affordability and how it relates to housing affordability. Prior to joining the MHC, Sarah worked in the environmental education and environmental engineering field in the Louisville, KY area. She holds a Masters of Science in Sustainability from the University of Louisville and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Natural Resources, with a minor in Sustainability and Environmental Studies, from Berea College.
Sarah moved to Louisville in 2019 and has been actively involved in her local community. She currently serves as a member and board secretary on the Board of Directors for the Louisville Sustainability Council – a nonprofit organization committed to connecting and convening non-profits, for-profits, and grassroots organizations in hopes of making Louisville a more sustainable city. She is passionate about resilient communities and equity, and is eager to connect with local community members and organizations. Sarah, her husband, and their cat reside in the Graymoor-Devondale neighborhood.
