MHC Launches New EveryHome Program

New EveryHome Program

The Metropolitan Housing Coalition understands that in order to have affordable housing, we must also have affordable utilities – energy, water, and wastewater services. To address this need, MHC launched the EveryHome program in April 2024 to include energy affordability in the housing affordability conversation. The EveryHome program aims to educate, advocate, and engage the community on housing and utility affordability with the vision of having “Every Home” in the Louisville Metro Statistical Area (MSA) have access to affordable, efficient utilities. By providing valuable resources, advocating for equitable policies, and fostering community involvement, we strive to create positive change and ensure that everyone has access to safe, affordable, and utility-efficient housing.

EveryHome has written a Housing & Utility Affordability Report (2025), hosted a Housing & Utility Affordability conference (2026), and engages the community through webinars on the third Tuesday of each month with topics related to housing and utility affordability. Recently, MHC’s EveryHome program partnered with the Louisville Water Foundation to expand our EveryHome program to include water affordability education. Thanks to this support, we launched a new water affordability section on our website and assembled 500 water assistance kits for residents across Jefferson County.
