Roof Over Our Head
MHC is proud to announce the launch of Roof Over Our Head, a new Louisville-based coalition in partnership with eight other organizations, which envisions a Louisville where everyone has access to safe, affordable, and fair housing. By focusing on storytelling, public understanding, and community collaboration, Roof Over Our Head helps move the housing narrative forward, building the public will and political alignment needed to make housing opportunity a shared community value.
Affordable housing is out of reach for far too many Louisvillians. The Louisville Metro Government 2024 Housing Needs Assessment found that a staggering 36,160 units are needed to be met for households earning 30% or less of the Area Median Income (AMI). The Roof Over Our Head is a coalition of housing advocates, nonprofit developers, service providers, community members, and civic leaders working together to reshape how Louisville thinks about housing. The Roof Over Our Head Coalition seeks to:

- – Drive policy and funding wins, and
- – Connect people to power
